About us
SIRD is a scientific association established in 2010 in Italy with the aim of promoting comparative legal science and collaborations between Italian jurists (scholars, practitioners) operating in Italy, or willing to work in connection with them. To this end, the association promotes the dissemination of Italian comparative thought in the world by favouring cooperation and contacts between jurists. The Association promotes conferences, courses, supports the publication in Italy of foreign scientific works and the translation into other languages of Italian works.
The purposes of the association include the establishment of prizes, scholarships, the support of research missions and the offering of scientific assistance to its members.
The Association is the National Committee for Italy of the International Academy of Comparative Law and of the International Association of Legal Science. SIRD is an institutional member of the European Law Institute.
